Deendayal Rasoi Yojana’ is an opportunity to fulfill social responsibility : Maya Singh

Bhopal. Urban Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh said that not only cheap, good quality, nutritious and delicious food would be available under the Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana, but every person will acquire the opportunity to fulfill their social responsibility. She said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana at Gwalior on April 7. Launching programme of the scheme by the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will be telecasted live at Doordarshan. The telecast can also be seen in all the district headquarters through big screens.
Smt. Maya Singh told that the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana has been initiated keeping in mind the adequate arrangement for food along with housing for the poor working as labourers and in other trade as per the wish of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In the first phase, the scheme would be inaugurated in 49 district headquarters on April 7 simultaneously between 6.00 to 7.00 p.m. The scheme will be launched in Bhind and Umaria district later on due to by-elections. In every district headquarter; Deendayal Rasoi Yojana will be implemented in at least one place. More than one centre would be set up in the big cities as per need.

Urban Development Minister informed that anyone can have a full meal in the thali for Rs 5 which includes four rotis, one sabzi and dal every day after 11 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. The arrangement would cater to at least 2000 persons. Smt. Singh said that the arrangement would be monitored by District Level Coordination and Monitoring Committee. Members of the Committee include Presidents of Anaj Vyapari Sangh and Sabji Mandi Association besides government officers. Wheat and rice @ Re 1 each would be made available through fair price shops to the Rasoi Kendras. Nagar Nigam will make free-of-cost arrangement of water and electricity.

Giving this information Smt. Singh said that funds for setting up the kendras would be made available under Chief Minister’s Urban Infrastructure Scheme. An account would be opened for every centre at a nationalized bank of the local headquarters.
