Modi Involved in Many Land Scams with Raje: Gehlot

Launching attack on his predecessor, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has claimed that IPL Commissioner was involved in many land scam deals with Vasundhara Raje, said media reports.

Issuing a press release late last night, Gehlot asked Raje to come clean on the alleged links with Modi and make clear if any state funds were pumped into the IPL, reports said.

The chief minister claimed that in collusion with Raje, Lalit Kumar Modi became Lalit Modi that during her regime, many ministers politicians and bureaucrats had to wait for Modi’s clearances for project, said reports.

The state government is now probing Modi’s purchase of heritage havelis in Rajasthan. An investigation earlier had confirmed that two havelis bought by Modi and his wife were government properties and so could not have be sold to private entities.

“According to land records of 1945-46 the heritage buildings which were sold belonged to the Government of India. On investigating the matter it was found that Lalit Modi and Mrinalini Modi (MOdi’s wife) were a part of the board of directors. The government is investigating the matter,” Rajasthan Tourism Minister Bina Kak was quoted as saying.

Gehlot also claimed that Raje did not take action against Modi even though the Opposition and media had been protesting and writing against the IPL chief’s alleged unlawful activities, reports said.
