Work underway on 154 drinking water schemes costing Rs. 3800 crore in state

Bhopal: Work is underway on 154 drinking water schemes for supplying drinking water as per norms in the state’s cities. Urban Administration & Development Department has sanctioned Rs. 3800 crore for these works.

For supplying drinking water in cities, 6 schemes are going on under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, 65 UIDSSMT Scheme, 11 under Union Government’s lump sum assistance scheme and 72 schemes are underway under Mukhyamantri Shehri Pey-jal Yojana.
Last year, Rs. 1026 crore 20 lakh was sanctioned for 72 schemes under Mukhyamantri Shehri Pey-jal Yojana. Work is underway rapidly on these schemes. Local bodies have been directed to complete sanctioned drinking water schemes with quality within time-limit.
