Huge convention of forest committees on April 22

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a huge conference of forest committees and tendu patta bonus distribution programme is being organized on April 22, at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal, and the participation of Vanvasis of all the districts of the state must be ensured. Preparations have been started for the conference according to the proposed arrival of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other guests.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that after the magnificent programme of Tribal Pride Day held in the presence of Prime Minister Modi in Bhopal last November, this is a special occasion when the tribal representatives of the state will visit the capital. There will also be cultural presentations related to the folk culture of the tribal and forest areas in the conference.

Chief Minister Chouhan was seeking information about the preparations for the state level programme for distribution of tendu patta bonus amount and the conference of forest committees being held at Mantralaya on April 22. Among those present on the occasion were Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Sudhir Kumar Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary Home Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary Scheduled Castes Welfare, Tribal Affairs Pallavi Jain Govil, Principal Secretary Public Relations Raghavendra Kumar Singh, OSD Chief Minister’s Office Yogesh Chaudhary, Police Commissioner Bhopal Makrand Deuskar, Secretary to Chief Minister M. Selvendran, Bhopal Commissioner Gulshan Bamra and other officers. Principal Secretary Forest Ashok Varnwal apprised about the various aspects of the preparations being made for the conference.

Important steps have been taken by the Madhya Pradesh government for the welfare of forest dwellers. People living in forest areas have also got the benefit of development schemes. Development works have changed the picture of these areas and the life of the local people has become easier. It was informed in the meeting that a photo exhibition would be organized at the convention site, which would focus on community forest management, minor forest produce collection and wildlife conservation along with the development of forest areas by the state government. Chief Minister Chouhan directed to keep this exhibition open for the general public as well.
