Karan Johar Apologies After MNS Stops Screening of his Film

Eminent Hindi film maker Karan Johar has tendered an apology to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray after his new film ‘Wake up Sid’ could not be screened due to opposition by MNS activists to ‘Bombay’ instead of ‘Mumbai’ in the film.

After meeting the MNS chief Raj Thackeray at his house, Karan told media persons that it was a genuine mistake on their part and from now on, they would use Mumbai instead of Bombay and that he had apologized for the same.

In response to a query if it was a publicity stunt, Karan said, “there are several other marketing platforms for publicity of the film. This was not a publicity stunt.”

“We will put a disclaimer in the film,” he said.
