Youths should take pledge for rebuilding country and society : Governor

Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has exhorted youths to take a pledge to play an active role in rebuilding society by imbibing ideals of Swami Vivekananda and also build their character. He was addressing inaugural function of Swami Vivekananda birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan here today. The function was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra. Expressing concern over conditions prevailing in the country, values and ideals of Swami Vivekananda and Gandhi Ji should be widely disseminated with a view to shown right path to youths. Nehru Yuva Kendra Organisation will organise Youth Conventions throughout the state on January 12, 2013.
Governor Shri Yadav said that youths can play a special role in bringing about social change and their unlimited energy can give fillip and direction to various development-oriented works. Shri Yadav said that facing communalism and regionalism is the biggest challenge of our times.
Shri Yadav said that Vivekananda Ji used to exhort youths to become capable. During his short span of life, he had visualised a secular state and progressive society. He believed in continuous work and struggle to become pious and selfless. The Governor said that there is need to work for others’ welfare rising above worldly considerations.
Special guest and Jagran University vice-chancellor Dr. Anup Swaroop said that representing India in Youth Convention at Chicago in 1893, Swami Vivekananda had held Indian flag high through his meaningful address. Swami Vivekananda used to say that he is representative of such a country, which has given shelter to all religions, communities and oppressed people, a country which taught peaceful co-existence and harmony to world. Shri Swaroop said that Gandh Ji used to say that Swami Vivekananda is the true symbol of youth in our country.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Organisation’s Madhya Pradesh Zonal Director Shri Arun Kumar Sarawgi informed that Vivekananda birth anniversary functions will be held in 48 districts of the state to spread his message. Organisation Deputy Director Shri Dinesh Rai proposed a vote of thanks. On the occasion, Kumari Poorvi sang Vande Matram song, which was written in 1930. Mementoes were presented to the Governor and other guests by Nehru Yuva Kendra Organisation. Governor’s Principal Secretary Shri Vinod Semwal, district representatives of Nehru Yuva Kendra Organisation and senior officers were present on the occasion.
