Weather will change in MP due to storm-western disturbance

The weather will change in Madhya Pradesh due to the storm ‘Midhili’ arising from the Bay of Bengal and the activation of a Western Disturbance in North India on 24-25 November. Bhopal will remain cloudy for the next 2 days and there may be light rain on 26th November. Light rain is also expected in the western part of the state.

At present, many cities including Bhopal are feeling cold even during the day. On Saturday, the day temperature in 18 cities of the state remained less than 30 degrees Celsius. These include Chhindwara, Khajuraho, Narsinghpur, Naugaon, Sagar, Rewa, Satna, Betul, Dhar, Guna, Gwalior, Malajkhand, Indore, Raisen, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Ratlam.

Shivpuri was the coldest. The mercury here was recorded at 27.2 degrees. The temperature was recorded at 28.2 degrees in Gwalior, 27.5 degrees in Malajkhand, 29.5 degrees in Indore and 27.4 degrees Celsius in Raisen.

The night is the coldest in Pachmarhi, the hill station of the state. The temperature here has reached 11 degrees Celsius. The temperature is 11.6 degrees in Rajgarh, 11.4 degrees in Guna and 11.4 degrees Celsius in Gwalior. It is also very cold in Datia, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur.

Dr. Ved Prakash Singh, forecast incharge of the weather center, said that storm ‘Midhili’ has arisen in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there is no possibility of severe cold in the next one week. Another Western Disturbance is reaching North India on 24 or 25 November. Due to its effect, there may be light rain in some parts on 26 or 27 November. It is expected to rain especially in the western part.

Senior meteorologist Dr. Singh said that there will not be much difference in temperature between day and night, but after November 28, there may be severe cold.

The record of highest rainfall in 24 hours is 76.4 mm i.e. 3 inches on November 10, 1969.
