Voter Facilitation Centres to be established in all districts

Bhopal: Collectors of the districts where Voter Facilitation Centres have been not been established so far have been directed to set up effective Voter Facilitation Centres immediately. Work to prepare electoral rolls and EPIC Cards in each Vidhan Sabha constituency has been entrusted to a state-level institution and vendor. Therefore, directives have been given to establish Voter Facilitation Centre at each Vidhan Sabha constituency headquarters. Instructions have been issued to deploy employees of the district collector office or other departments turn-by-turn for disposal of applications.
Nomination of sub-divisional officer, tahsildar or naib tahsildar can be made for running of Voter Facilitation Centres for examination, monitoring and rationalisation. Directives have been given to provide internet connectivity at these centres after getting linked to NIC. It as also been directed to train centre in-charges in developing an effective centre, installation of hologram, preparation of EPIC Cards of and hand them over to BLOs , maintaining record of applications and giving satisfactory answers to applicants after taking suitable action on them.
Instructions have been given to provide duplicate photo identity cards immediately after receiving applications from voters at the Voter Facilitation Centres. computer, printer, lamination machine etc. have been provided for each Vidhan Sabha constituency. Resources have also been made available to vendors. Therefore, time of 10-15 minute to one hour can be given for preparation of duplicate photo identity card after receiving application. Period of 15 days can be given for inclusion or removal. If concerning applicant does not come, then information/decision about disposal can be given through BLO or post. If mobile number of the applicant is available, then information will also be given through SMS.
Directives have been give to write name of officer, mobile number and centre’s telephone number on the receipt when the centre receives an application. Besides, directives have also been given to write BLO’s name mobile number on the receipt so that concerning applicant can obtain information over phone. The Chief Electoral Officer has directed state Electronics Development Corporation to direct all the vendors to make available their set up and manpower for the work of electoral rolls at Vidhan Sabha constituency-level.
