Trust shown in state government will be maintained: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Chhindwara city will soon have Municipal Corporation for its speedy development. He said that Rs. 54 crore will be distributed as compensation towards loss of soybean crops to farmers. Shri Chouhan was addressing an “Aao Banayen Apna Madhya Pradesh” convention at Chhindwara polo ground today. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development works costing Rs. 20 crore and distributed cheques and material worth Rs. 98 crore under beneficiary-oriented schemes to one lakh 98 thousand beneficiaries. Agriculture Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen, Rajya Sabha member Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, MLAs Shri Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh, Pt. Ramesh Dube, Shri Nanabhau Mohod and Shri Natthan Shah were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the trust shown by state’s people in recent Vidhan Sabha elections will be maintained in any case. Referring to power, he said that power generation was only 2900 MW 10 years ago which has been increased to 11 thousand MW now. The state government will make efforts to ensure generation of 20 thousand MW power by year 2020. He said that the state government is sensitive towards farmers’ interests. Now, Rs. 150 per quintal bonus is also being given by the state government on procurement of maize. The Chief Minister said that all kinds of labourers, SC and ST people will be provided wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Re. 1 per kg.

Referring to the urban poor, the Chief Minister said that pattas will be given to them on the land where they are residing in urban areas. Now, Rs. 25 thousand per couple will be given under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana. The Chief Minister urged people to de-addict villages. He said that no new liquor shop or distillery will be opened in the state and milk production will be augmented.

Former BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari said that 10 years ago, Madhya Pradesh was counted among Bimbaru states, but due to present state government’s efforts Madhya Pradesh has become a pioneer state. He said that country’s agriculture growth is 2.50 percent and that of Madhya Pradesh 18.90 percent. The function was also addressed by Mahamandleshwar Swami Akhileshwarananda Giri.
