To Bring Happiness in Farmers’ Lives is Prime Objective: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan distributed insurance claim for Kharif crop in the form of certificates worth Rs. 9 crore 39 lakh under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to the farmers at Datia today. CM Shri Chouhan said that to bring happiness in the lives of the farmers is the prime objective of the state government. For this, state government has taken all the necessary steps. In this series, the Prime Minister Crop insurance Scheme is an important scheme to compensate the farmers for different types of crop loss.

Shri Chouhan further said that every needy of the state will get his/her own house till 2022. An economic assistance of Rs. One lakh 50 thousand will be provided for this. Moreover, e-rickshaws will be provided to the cycle rickshaw pullers of the state. Several steps have been taken for women empowerment and Mukhyamantri Yuva Udhmi Yojana will help youths become successful entrepreneurs.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that Poor Welfare fair will be organized at Bhopal on December 4. He lauded the good implementation of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme in Datia. Shri Chouhan said that it is to be highlighted that Datia has become the first district of the state to benefit farmers under the crop insurance scheme. Minister Dr. Mishra and Datia Administration are eligible for praise and felicitation. It may be mentioned that under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme implemented in the current year in the entire India, 60 thousand 621 hectare Kharif crop of 39 thousand 578 farmers was insured in Datia district only. Under this there is 171 crore 37 lakh insurance amount and 3 crore 42 lakh is premium amount. Due to heavy rainfall the Kharif crops like sesame seed and black gram were damaged in the Datia district. Immediately insurance claim was sent to the insurance company and the insurance claim worth Rs. 40 crore was approved for 16 thousand 256 farmers by the insurance company. Twenty five percent amount of Rs. 9 crore 39 lakh as first installment were deposited in the bank account of the farmers directly by the company. The remaining 75 percent amount will be paid to the farmers as the final installment after the crop reaping.

Minister for Public Relations Dr. Narottam Mishra said that dacoits have been eliminated from the land of Madhya Pradesh. Loan without interest has been arranged by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Irrigation area has been expanded speedily. Mismanagement of the past has been eradicated and Madhya Pradesh is developing fast. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s efforts have made new picture of the state.

Dr. Mishra informed that the farmers were contacted in each and every village for crop insurance cover to give them maximum benefit of the scheme. Honest efforts has made Datia district as first district to derive benefit of the scheme in the state. This special beginning is one of its own kinds in the country where result has been obtained at the implementation level.
