The state government trying hard for development despite of center’s ignorance

BHOPAL (MPINFO): On Sunday Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is among four major states in development and public welfare. This has been admitted even by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Madhya Pradesh has crossed 10 percent agriculture growth rate while the average National Agriculture Growth Rate is much lower. Chouhan was addressing a public meeting at the Police Ground at Chhindwara district headquarters.

CM said that the State Government has been demanding the Union Government to make available adequate supply of fertilisers, but to no avail. Requisite quantity of coal is not being made available to Birsinghpur, Sarni and Amarkantak thermal power stations in the state so that the State Government face the ire of people over short supply of power.

Despite all these hurdles, the State Government has been making efforts on a war-footing to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people. The target of supplying power for 24 hours in the rural years by year 2013 is being achieved through feeder separation. New thermal power stations are being set up at Sarni and Khandwa. He said that nowadays Madhya Pradesh government is purchasing power worth Rs. three to four crore for distributing power to the common man in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the responsibility of repairing National Highways lies with the Union Government. People are facing difficulties since the Union Government is not paying any attention towards to the problem.
