Terror attack in Bhopal-Ujjain Passenger, 10 hurts

Bhopal. Ten people were injured, three of them seriously in an IED blast on Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train near Jabdi station in Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Inspector General Makrand Devaskar said the blast was terrorist attack. Three persons from Pipariya town in Hoshangabad have been detained.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the DGP, forensic experts, and officials of the Special Task Force and Anti-Terrorism Squad to conduct an enquiry.
The State Government has announced a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the seriously injured persons and Rs 25,000 each to the other injured passengers.
The Union Home Ministry has sought a report from the State Government about terror group’s involvement. State Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said, “The initial investigation suggests the blast is a terror attack as there was a gunpowder odour.”
The blast took place in the second-last coach that was an ordinary second-class coach of train No. 59320 between 9.30 am and 10 am, Railways PRO Anil Saxena said.
Two coaches were damaged and glass panes of the windows in the general coach were shattered in the blast. Following the blast, the train came to a halt and smoke engulfed the general coach, causing panic among the passengers who rushed out to save themselves.

An official statement from Railways said the injured were identified as Bharti Yadav, 18, Jeeya Kushwah, 27, Pushpa Kushwah, 45 and Neha Yadav, 17 – all residents of Sehore, Sayyad Akhtar Hussain, 55 of Rajgarh, Babulal Prasad Malviya, 45 of Pipaliya Nagar, Wasim Khan, 25 of Bhopal and Amritlal Sahu of Rajgarh. Medical team on the spot said one Shanti, 35, of Sehore was also injured in the blasts.
