Students with over 75% marks eligible for Medhavi Chhaatra Protsahan Yojana

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that playing along with studying is important for the complete development of one’s personality. He said that playing games is a must for the both physical and mental development of children. Shri Chouhan was addressing sports talents from educational institutions run by Vidhya Bharati Madhya Bharat Prant at the Chief Minister’s residence today.

Shri Chouhan said that it is the government’s duty to support in the projects of the nation’s reconstruction. Government would support every such effort made by the society. Vidhya Bharati has undertaken the work of creating Indian life values and culture in limited resources. Government will give complete support to the efforts of the Sanstha. Its outline would be prepared with the School Education Department. He said that India’s future lies with the children.

Giving information about the Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana he said that students obtaining over 75 per cent marks in 12th would be eligible for this Yojana. The annual income of the guardians should not be more than Rs 6 lakhs. State government will bear the fees for the admission of these students into listed Engineering, Medical Colleges and other educational institutions in Government, Medical, Engineering, Management, Law and Private Sector. He said that environment was the need of the hour. Narmada Seva Yatra is a ritual of river conservation. Saplings would be planted on both the banks of the Narmada on coming July 2. He urged Vidhya Bharati to assist in the ritual of tree plantation.

Extending his greetings on Chaitra-Navratra and Hindu New Year, Shri Chouhan called upon the people present at the programme to resolve to give due respect to daughters. He said that they should keep a pure and respectful view towards girls. Expressing his respect towards daughters, he said that at the beginning of Narmada Yatra, he performs the ritual of cleaning the feet of ‘kanyas’ and applying the water on their forehead out of respect. This generates new power and energy in him. For women empowerment, 50 per cent posts in education department and 33 per cent posts in other departments (excluding forest) have been reserved for women. Shri Chouhan called upon people to be committed towards cleanliness campaign and congratulated the winners of various medals. Shri Bhagirath Kumrawat presented research-management on the role of textbooks in Hindi language in quality education to the Chief Minister.

School Education Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that the presence of teachers in schools has been ensured. A Control Cell has been constituted the telephone number of which has been marked in all one lakh 18 thousand government schools. Information regarding absence of any teacher can be given to the cell. The Control Cell will take information about the teacher’s presence through mobile phones. Guests in School Education department programmes will from now on be gifted with books and not welcomed with garlands or bouquets like before.

Vidhya Bharati National President Dr. Govind Prasad Sharma said that students of the school have found a place in the merit list in all board examinations. Quality of education is the institution’s identity. National Secretary of School Games Federation of India Shri Rajesh Mishra informed that the Asian School Games Hockey Competition would be organized from April 2. The Federation will honour Vidhya Bharati for creation of Sports talents and for organizing excellent national competitions. National Deputy Organising Secretary Shriram Aravkar was also present on the occasion.

Deputy Secretary of School Games Federation of India Shri Muktesh Singh informed that Vidhya Bharati has established a record by bagging over 180 medals in the entire country in various national school sports events. Sixteen districts of Madhya Pradesh have bagged 17-Gold, 28- Silver and 57 – Bronze, total 102 medals. This year 305 boys and 129 girls total 434 players have participated in the competitions.
