Strict action to be taken on irregularities in wheat procurement: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan made surprise inspection of wheat procurement centre of Raghuvesh Warehousing Private Limited at Mugalia Kot today. He got weighed wheat-laden trolleys twice. On noticing difference in weight, he directed to send team from Bhopal to investigate the matter. The Chief Minister said that the team from Bhopal will examine entire arrangements. Strict action will be taken if irregularities are found in any arrangement including weighing. Guilty persons will not be spared. Injustice with farmers will not be allowed anywhere in the state.

The Chief Minister held separate discussions with farmers present at procurement centre and sought information about procurement. Shri Chouhan examined samples of wheat procured from farmers and minutely inspected sample taking process. Shri Chouhan informed farmers that instructions have been given to all procurement centres to procure wheat which has lost shine due to untimely rains and hailstorm as well as thin grains. Discussions in this regard have also been held with Central government. He said that responsibility of procuring wheat from farmers has been entrusted to collectors and in-charge of concerning centre. Non-procurement of wheat from farmers will be taken seriously.

The Chief Minister had made surprise inspection of steel silo storage plant procurement centre following complaints by farmers about irregularities in weighing. He informed that he would inspect other procurement centres also similarly. At Mugalia Kot procurement centre, he got weighed trolleys of a number of farmers. Difference of 10 to 20 kg in weight was detected in one trolley. Collector Shri Nishant Warwade was also present on the occasion.
