State Govt Waives off Mandatory Conditions for Contractual Teachers

The state government has decided to give one more concession to contractual teachers, said an official release.

With this, conditions compulsory for merger of grade 3 teachers with teachers cadre have been waived off.

Now, teachers training degree or a correspondence course degree will not be a mandatory condition for them to become Adhyapak. Similarly, the Shikshakarmi grade 3 will get increment after becoming Adhyapak.

It may be mentioned here that the state government, earlier in May 2008, had amended the recruitment rules of these teachers and had decided to merge such teachers cadre (Samvarg).

Earlier, it was mandatory for them to have teachers training degree or degree of correspondence course.

The state government has now agreed that the contractual school teachers grade 3, who are basically laboratory assistants, are not meant for teaching or related to teaching task.

Hence, degree of teachers training or correspondence course should not become mandatory for them.

In the light of this fact, a new decision has been taken to give benefit to the above grade 3 teachers.

In another important decision, the state government acknowledged that the Shikshakarmi Grade-3, who have already been absorbed in the grade of Adhyapak have become eligible for increment.

Earlier, even though the Shikshakarmis were absorbed in Adhyapak grade, were not eligible for increment.

The state government has written to all District Collectors, Municipal Corporation Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers of Janpad and District Panchayats, Chief Municipal Officers, District Education Officers and Assistant Commissioners of Tribal Development about the latest decisions.
