Start work of Upper Lake Mega Circuit Project soon: Babulal Gaur
Bhopal: Home & Jail Minister Shri Babulal Gaur has directed to start work of Bhopal Mega Circuit Project at Khanugaon on the banks of Upper Lake. Under the project, boat shade, jetty, railings, benches, dustbins and signages are to be arranged in Khanugaon shore of the Upper Lake. The project is being implemented by Tourism Development Corporation. Shri Gaur directed officers of municipal corporation to start works as soon as they are sanctioned. Shri Gaur visited Upper Lake’s catchment area here today.
Shri Gaur directed to install fountains in the lake on both sides of bridge on road to Neelbad from Bhadbhada. He said that this area of the Upper Lake is naturally beautiful and fountains will enhance its beauty further. Shri Gaur also directed to develop like VIP Road the road upto Nilbad where a number of institutions including NILU are situated.
Shri Guar said that local people have informed him that once Leelji river was 25 feet deep. It has become shallow due to accumulation of silt. He said that silt should be removed to deepen it like past. This river flows water from near Barkhera Natu, Mugalia Chhap and nearby villages to the Upper Lake. Shri Gaur inspected confluence point of Kolans river with the lake and include local people’s suggestions in its development. Kolans river is the main water source of the Upper Lake.
Shri Gaur discussed with villagers of Mugaliya Chhap, Khajuri Sadak and other villages the development works to be undertaken in the area and catchment of the lake. SP Shri Arvind Saxena, Additional Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Shri Sanjay Kumar, Shri Bhagirath Patidar, Shri Omprakash Mewada, officers and local people accompanied Shri Gaur.
