Singapore Industrialists keen to invest in MP

Singapore. The Industrialists of Singapore have shown keen interest to invest in Madya Pradesh. in the Chief Minister’s visit and investment in the state. Companies expressed their eagerness to work on DMIC and Industrial corridor projects. Further, companies indicated that they will make a visit to Madhya Pradesh soon.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan held talks with representatives of over 20 leading corporate houses in Singapore on Monday. They included Jonathan Yap, CEO of Ascendas, Lee Theng Kiat, President of Temasek, Shri Wong Khei Theen Sr. VP of Hyflux, Shri Tang Tat Kwong, Group President & CEO of Jurong Consultants and Shahidhar, Senior Vice-President of Agro Corp International amongst others
The key discussions were around investments in the areas of food processing, infrastructure development and tourism. MPTRIFAC also organised an Investment Promotion Session to showcase opportunities for investment and discussed cross-border partnerships in advance of the much-awaited Global Investors’ Summit in October 2012. The session Organised with the support of CII and Ernst & Young recorded an overwhelming response from the Singapore business community and was attended by over 100 delegates.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also met Shri Lim Hang Kiang, Minister for Trade & Industry, Singapore. Both dignitaries discussed various opportunities for investment and cross-border partnerships in the areas of infrastructure development, skill development and promoting tourism.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan requested formally to Singapore Government to become partner country for Global Investors Summit and also invited them to visit with a delegation to GIS in October 2012. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the existing water reservoirs such as Tawa, Indira Sagar, Gandhi Sagar, Upper Lake at Bhopal etc. can be developed on the lines of Sentosa Island. During the meeting, it was discussed that both the Governments would explore the direct flight connectivity between Bhopal/Indore and Singapore.
Madhya Pradesh’s business delegation extended a warm invitation to business leaders, investors, corporations, academic leaders and policymakers to participate in the ensuing Investors Summit scheduled on October 28-30, 2012, in the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore. This global summit is expected to serve as the perfect platform to understand and explore business opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh. It also offers an opportunity to showcase products & services, hold B2B meetings and also proposes to deliberate issues of global and national importance through discussion forums and panel discussions.
