“Semiconductor Fab” to come up at Bhopal
Bhopal: Bhopal is set to get yet another the gift in the form of a unit “Semiconductor Fab” (Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication) for
producing unique and ultramodern electronics chips. This will pave way for state’s development in ultra high modern technique sector. A sum of Rs. 34 thousand 399 crore is estimated to be invested on it and 1.22 lakh people are expected to get employment through it.
This important information was given by Shri J.P. Gaur of Messrs Jaiprakash Associates Limited during Global Investors Summit at Indore on Friday. Japan’s assistance will be taken for this. Capacity of “Semiconductor Fab” will be about 40,000 WSPM. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the state government will allot 100 acre land to the company near Raja Bhoj airport.
Setting up of “Semiconductor Fab” will cast very good impact on electronic system and design and manufacturing in the country. It will help set up critical peeler in electronics system design and manufacturing electronics system design and manufacturing sector. It will help also increase flow of technology and funds. It will create high value addition in other electronics products’ manufacturing.
It is noteworthy that a high level committee of Central government had recommended to identify investors in technology sector and provide special facilities to promote fab facilities for setting up of 2 semiconductor fabs in the country. The Central cabinet committee presented its recommendations and sanctioned incentives package for establishment of semiconductor fab.
