School Education Minister to be Chairman of Open School Board

Bhopal: School Education Minister will be the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Open School Board. It was decided at a meeting of general body of the school chaired by School Education Minister Shri Paras Chandra Jain here today. Minister of State for School Education Shri Deepak Joshi, Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Dr. Devraj Birdi, several heads of departments and members were present on the occasion.
The general body also decided to upgrade post of Director at par with D.P.I. A proposal will be brought forward to change bylaws in both cases in next meeting of the general body. Minister Shri Jain directed to declare results and start new admissions. He directed to exercise transparency in administrative and exam-related processes. The Director will present proposal at the government level to exempt the board from income tax.
Sanctioning previous incomes and expenditure, the meeting approved Rs. 21 crore budget for the current fiscal. The Board gave permission of printing works through Text Book Corporation. The Education Minister directed officers to study and implement arrangements made by Board of Secondary Education for maintaining records. Contact programme for Open School’s candidates will be through Rajya Shiksha Kendra. Directives have also been given to present report of committee headed by D.P.I. with a week.
