Salute to this woman from Bhopal: Saved 3 lives by donating her brain dead husband’s organs

Sushma Awasthi, who was sitting in the corridor of the hospital hoping for the recovery of her husband who was injured in the accident, was praying every moment that her husband should somehow get well. But, there was no improvement in the condition of husband Rajesh. Ultimately the doctors declared him brain dead.

When this was told to Sushma Awasthi, she became unconscious. After regaining consciousness, she was not ready to accept that her husband Rajesh would never recover. After this, the doctors of Bansal Hospital counseled Sushma. Along with explaining the whole thing to her, she also told that if she donates Rajesh’s organs in this condition, then the lives of two-four people can be saved.

At first she was not ready to accept. After persuasion by doctors and family members, she agreed to donate her husband’s organs. Even though Rajesh is no longer in the world, he gave new life to three people. Now people are praising this decision of Sushma Awasthi. Rajesh Awasthi, resident of Harshvardhan Nagar, used to serve in a private company. Apart from his wife, there is a son in the family. He studies in 11th class.

When Rajesh Awasthi’s body was handed over to his family members outside the hospital, the police band played a tune and saluted him.

Respect to the entire family including Sushma Awasthi

After the completion of the organ donation process, Rajesh Awasthi’s body was brought out of the hospital. The corridor of the hospital was decorated with flowers. Before handing over the body to the family, the hospital management honored Rajesh’s wife Sushma and family. During this, the police band played a tune and saluted.

Rajesh Awasthi, 53, who was injured in the accident on November 24, was admitted to Bansal Hospital in a critical condition. He had deep wounds on his head. CT scan revealed that along with head injury, brain hemorrhage had also occurred in the accident. The Brain Death Certification Committee of 4 doctors including neuro surgeon and intensivist, authorized expert, declared him brain stem dead after conducting medical examination including clinical examination and apnea test.

Before handing over the body, the hospital management honored Rajesh’s wife Sushma and other family members. Appreciated his decision.

According to the information received from the hospital, Rajesh Awasthi’s wife Sushma Awasthi and family were explained about his condition. Told about brain stem death. After this the family voluntarily agreed to donate the organs. After this the process of organ donation was started. During the procedure, the patient’s kidney and liver were found eligible for donation. This information was given to the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO). SOTTO donated the liver to Bansal Hospital and both the kidneys to two private hospitals in Bhopal.
