Education necessary for progress: CM

Education is a must for the progress of any society, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday.

He was addressing the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Jayanti and Meher Marriageable Youth Introductory Convention at Chhattisgarh Hardiya Sahu Samaj Community Centre at Mahadev Ghat, Raipur.

On the occasion, Baghel blessed the newly wed couples and wished them a prosperous future.

He said the community needed to create awareness among the youth and members on evils of addiction. They should stop consumption of intoxicants.

He said that in each block a Swami Atmanand English Medium School is being started so that children from weaker sections can receive education in English medium.

At Nava Raipur, a 200-bed Scheduled Caste Residential Coach Centre will be made. Similarly, the state will pay the fees of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students at the national level school opening at Nava Raipur, said Baghel.

The Chief Minister threw light on different steps undertaken by his government through various schemes to economically empower the poor and farmers.

The community felicitated Daulat Ram College (Kasdol) Principal Major Dr. H.K.S. Gajendra and Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (Geography Dept) Technical Officer Dr Chaitram Rate with ‘Meher Ratna’.
