Rs. 166 crore for Bargi left Bank canals in jabalpur

Bhopal: On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a huge amount of Rs. 166 crore has been allocated for maintenance and repairs and field channel construction of Bargi left bank canals in Jabalpur district. This information was given by Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi. He was having a detailed discussion on maintenance and irrigation potential of canals with officers of water consumer committees of Shahpura-Patan area in Jabalpur district the other day.
Shri Ajay Vishnoi informed that this is for the first time that such a huge fund has been received for this work. Of the sanctioned funds, Rs. 80 crore will be spent on the construction of field channels, water course and kulawa. He informed that it will be office-bearers’s responsibility to pay special attention to quality since these works will be carried out through water consumer societies. Shri Vishnoi also informed that the Chief Minister has directed irrigation capacity of Bargi left bank canal should be increased utpo 75 thousand hectares during this Rabi season. An action plan has also been chalked out as per the directives.
