Roads to be constructed with new technique in busy mining areas

Bhopal: Public Works Minister Shri Sartaj Singh has said that rods should be constructed with new technique in busy mining areas. He said that new technology will prevent roads from breaking up due to traffic of heavy vehicles. Shri Singh also directed to complete process of recruitment of technical staff in the department for accelerating the pace of construction. Minister Shri Singh was addressing a meeting of departmental officers at Nirman Bhavan here today.

Shri Sartaj Singh said that construction works will cost less if completed within time-limit. He directed to start tendering process only after taking no objection certificates from concerning agencies and payment of bills to concerning parties within 15 days. The Public Works Minister directed to implement Work Monitoring and Management System for software-based effective monitoring of all ongoing works.

Minister Shri Sartaj Singh also directed to ensure proper maintenance of PWD buildings and revise rent of circuit houses and rest houses.

It was informed that software for Assets Management System is being evolved for keeping records of department’s roads, buildings, bridges and all other assets and Human Resource Management System for maintaining records of officers and employees.

Principal Secretary Public Works Shri K.K. Singh and Engineer-in-Chief Shri Akhilesh Agrawal were also present on the occasion.
