Relief against loss of life increase from Rs. 1.50 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh

Bhopal: The state government has effected major changes in Revenue Book of Circulars in the large interests of farmers. As per new amendments, farmers will get proper relief in times of natural disasters.

These amendments have been made in deference to announcements made by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Shri Rampal Singh informed that earlier relief of Rs. 1.50 lakh was given for loss of life as per section 6 of serial number 4 of RBC, which has been increased to Rs. 4 lakh.

Similarly, relief of Rs. 16 thousand 500 against death of cow, buffalo, camel etc. has been increased to Rs. 30 thousand per animal.

Earlier, relief of Rs. 20 thousand was given against irreparable damage to kuccha houses. Now, it has been increased 95 thousand. On assessment of over 50 percent serious damage to pucca house, relief has been incrased from Rs. 12 thousand 600 to Rs. 95 thousand 100. Relief in case of over 50 percent damage to kuchcha house has also been increased from 3,800 to Rs. 95 thousand 100.

Now, Rs. 59 thousand 100 relief instead of Rs. 43 thousand 500 will be given on suffering 40 to 60 percent disability and Rs. 2 lakh instead of Rs. 62 thousand 500 against over 60 percent disability.

Sanction limit of officers also enhanced

Limit of financial powers to sanction relief under RBC 6-4 has also been enhanced. Now, divisional commissioner can sanction over Rs. 5 lakh, collector upto Rs. 5 lakh, SDO upto Rs. one lakh and tahasildar upto Rs. 50 thousand.
