Record 339.51 Lakh Matric Tonne Food Grain Production In M.P.

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has set a record this year too registering a remarkable increase in food grains production. Increase has been registered in wheat, paddy, cereals and pulses’ production.

Food grain production has become increased to 339 lakh 51 thousand matric tonne in the year 2015-16. An increase of 18.35 percent has been registered in comparison to year 2014-15. The food grain production was 286 lakh 87 thousand matric tonne in the year 2014-15. Similarly, 7.64 percent increase has been registered in wheat production in comparison to year 2014-15. The wheat production was 171 lakh 03 thousand matric tonne in the year 2014-15 which has grown to 184 lakh 10 thousand matric tonne in the year 2015-16. Moreover, the paddy production has also jumped to 53 lakh 20 thousand matric tonne comparing to 36 lakh 25 thousand matric tonne.

M.P. Displays Best in Pulses Production

Madhya Pradesh has displayed best in pulses production. Pulse production was 48 lakh 28 thousand matric tonne in year 2014-15 which has grown to 56 lakh 54 thousand matric tonne in the year 2015-16. An increase of 17.11 percent was registered in comparison to the last year. Production of cereals has also grown up. The cereal production was 31 lakh 29 thousand matric tonne in the year 2014-15 which has gone up to 45 lakh 67 thousand matric tonne in 2015-16. An increase of 45.96 percent has been registered in the year 2015-16.

Food Grain Production Increased

Increase has been registered in food grains production due to adoption of best farming techniques. Now it has grown to 2183 k.g. per hectare in comparison to 1856 k.g. per hectare in the year 2014-15. Similarly, wheat production is increased to 3115 k.g. per hectare in comparison to 2850 k.g. per hectare las year. An unexpected increase has been registered in pulses production. It has become 980 k.g. per hectare in the year 2015-16 comparing to 876 k.g. per hectare in year 2014-15. In this way, a growth of upto 11.87 percent has been registered.

Agriculture Loan worth Rs. 45,003 Crore

Good results are being constantly obtained from the steps taken for good credit facilities to the farmers. Cooperative Agriculture loan of Rs. 45003 crore 25 lakh was provided to the farmers through cooperative banks in the year 2015-16, which is Rs. 8420 crore 07 lakh more than the agriculture loan of Rs. 36583 crore18 lakh provided in the year 2014-15.

Various kinds of facilities are being provided to the farmers at the directives of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the state. In these, mainly irrigation, electricity, technical guidance, interest free loans, e-procurement facility in mandi campuses are proved transformational in the agriculture sector.
