Rail projects should be completed speedily in view of Simhastha: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu here today and urged him to ensure that ongoing rail projects of Madhya Pradesh are completed at a rapid pace in view of Simhastha. The Union Minister assured that these projects will be completed speedily.

The Chief Minister said that Khandwa to Mhow railway line is important in view of ensuing Simhastha. Gauge conversion work is underway presently on Ratlam-Indore-Mhow-Khandwa line. Similarly, Chintaman-Fatehabad section is an important link of Ujjain city through which devotees from western region come. This section measuring about 27 kms has been closed for gauge conversion. It needs to be opened soon. Gauge conversion work can be undertaken after Simhastha. Construction of a part of Lalitpur-Singrauli railway link has been completed. This rail project is important for Bundelkhand. This should be completed at the earliest. Similarly, Jabalpur-Gondia gauge conversion work should also be completed soon.

The Chief Minister informed that Mandi Board is developing multi-model logistics hub at Pawarkhera. This project has railway sidings on three sides which need to be connected with railway lines. Railways should provide NOC for it. This logistics hub is near Itarsi Railway Junction of Western Railway , which is significant for railway transport. Railway Minister Shri Prabhu assured that works of all these projects will be undertaken on priority. Principal Secretary to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Secretary Shri Vivek Agrawal were also present at the meeting.
