Raids on 18 places around Bhopal
BHOPAL: On Thursday the Income Tax Department carried out raids at 18 places across Bhopal and nearby places including Mandideep industrial area.
Bansal Group and two doctors of a city-based hospital detected huge amount of undisclosed assets, disproportionate to their source of income.
Residences of Anil Bansal and Sunil Bansal (owners of Bansal Group) besides doctors–Ashok Gupta and Neeraj Kumar, former owners of Ayushman hospital were among those where raids were held.
The Bansal Group had purchased the Aayushman Hospital few years ago and has invested a lot of money in real estate and other businesses here. Sources said that although income tax returns of these persons showed them as middle-class salaried people, they had invested a lot of money in properties and real estate.
According to sources, during the raid the documents seized which pointed out that they had invested much more money than their disclosed income.
