Public prosecution work of state was lauded by Judges

BHOPAL: A work shop for judges and prosecution officers was organized at the National Judicial Academy here on Tuesday.

The judges from Maharashtra and Gujarat High Courts and prosecution officers & advocates from 18 states attended the workshop.

The works undertaken by the Public Prosecution Department in Madhya Pradesh was lauded by judges. The Home Minister Umashankar Gupta, informs the workshop about legal and computer-related training imparted to 344 senior prosecution officers during the year 2011-12.

Along with that e-library software was purchased and laptops were made available to prosecution officers. The information regarding heinous and sensational crimes, cases of violence against women and cases related to NDPS has been uploaded in laptops by prosecution officers.

It was also informed that the monitoring of the cases becomes easier because of this and cases are also being disposed of promptly.

It was also acknowledges by participants that such work was being done only in Madhya Pradesh. Gujarat’s judges P.K. Tripathi and R.M. Chhaya, Maharashtra High Court judge Sundaram Balota and Chief Judicial Magistrates, prosecution officers, police inspectors, social workers, NGOs’ representatives and advocates from 18 state participated in the workshop.
