Promotion of players and sports need of hour

Bhopal: Promotion of players and sports is the need of hour. This not only brings fame and honour to country and society, but also develops sportsman’s spirit, which helps in country’s future progress. This was stated by Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav while inaugurating 24th National Navodaya Vidyalay Sports Competitions at Amarkantak in Anuppur district today.

As many as 600 players from 8 divisions in the country including Chandigarh, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Puna, Shillong and Bhopal are participating in the 3-day 24th National Navodaya Vidyalay Sports Competitions. Earlier, Governor Shri Yadav inaugurated the competitions by lighting a torch.
Shri Yadav said that sports inculcate sportsman’s spirit, enthusiasm and high ethical values. Besides, sports also give opportunity to players to display their skills. In addition, such competitions also help in identifying rural sports talents and make them international level players through proper coaching. Shri Yadav felicitated winners of the competitions with medals and cash prizes.
Shahdol division commissioner, Deputy Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalay School Committee, Bhopal, IG, Collector Anuppur and large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion.
