Prime Minister Manmohan Singh lauds fast growing Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has lauded fast-growing Madhya Pradesh. He said that Madhya Pradesh which was once known as a BIMARU state has progressed at a rapid pace.
Dr. Manmohan Singh was replying to motion of thanks on the President’s address in Rajya Sabha today. In his address, he wholeheartedly praised Bihar’s development also.
It is noteworthy that Madhya Pradesh’s growth rate stood at 11.98 percent this year. Under the Five-Year Plan, the state achieved 10.20 percent growth rate, which was three times higher than the national average.
Similarly, Madhya Pradesh’s agriculture growth rate stood at 18.89 percent this year, which is highest in the country. This agriculture growth rate is the result of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s efforts to make agriculture profitable. Madhya Pradesh is the only state not only in the country, but entire world where loans are being provided to farmers on zero percent interest rate. Here, a separate Agriculture Cabinet has been constituted. Work is progressing fast to supply power for 24 hours in villages and 8 hours continuously for agriculture.
