Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana in 97 development blocks of state

Bhopal: As many as 97 development blocks in 44 districts of the state have been included in Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana to expand irrigation in rain fed agriculture areas and increase agriculture production. Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava informed that under the Central Government schemes, water conservation works will be undertaken through convergence of MNREGA and Watershed Area Management Programme. The scheme will go a long way in efforts to make agriculture profitable and economic upliftment of farmers.

ACS Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Aruna Sharma has directed field staff for effective implementation of work under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. She directed to chalk out action plans for water conservation, water distribution and groundwater exploitation. The water conservation and groundwater augmentation works will include contour trenches, gully plugs, boulder structures, stone bunds, gobian structures, ponds in fields, field recharge pits, well recharge, underground dyke, repair of old water bodies and removal of silt. For water distribution and exploitation of groundwater, works of construction of wells and canals, lining of canals, water distribution systems and lift irrigation will be undertaken. Besides, some more useful irrigation and water conservation works can also be taken up. A state level workshop will be held at Bhopal on July 3 in the context of works to be undertaken through convergence.

Nalkhera development block of Agar-Malwa district, Sondwa of Alirajpur, Pushprajgarh of Anuppur and Mungwali development block of Ashok Nagar district are among selected 97 development blocks in 44 districts.

Similarly, Baihar and Birsa development blocks in Balaghat district, Nivly, Rajpur, Sendhwa and Theekri in Barwani, Athner, Betul, Bhainsdehi, Bhimpur, Chicholi and Shahpur in Betul, Berasia in Bhopal, Khaknar in Burhanpur, Bada Malahra, Bijawar, Bakswaha and Raj Nagar in Chhatarpur, Bichhua, Harria and Tamia in Chhindwara, Jabera and Patera in Damoh, Sewdha in Datia, Bagli and Kannaud in Dewas, Dharampuri, Gandhwani, Sardarpur and Umarwan in Dhar, Dindori in Dindori, Bamori and Chachoda in Guna, Bhitarwar in Gwalior and Kesla development block in Hoshangabad district have also been included in the scheme. Other development blocks selected under the scheme include Kundam in Jabalpur district, Meghnagar, Petlawad, Ranapur, Thandla in Jhabua, Chhegaon, Khalwa and Pandhana in Khandwa district, Bhagwanpura, Bhikangaon, Kasrawad, Segaon and Jhirniya in Khargone, Bijadandi and Narayan Garh in Mandla, Sitamau in Mandsaur, Manasa in Neemuch, Ajaygarh, Gunnaur, Panna, Pawai and Shahnagar in Panna, Silwani in Raisen, Khilchipur and Rajgarh in Rajgarh district and Bajna development block in Ratlam district.

Hanumana development block in Rewa district, Banda in Sagar, Jaycee Nagar, Kesli, Rehli and Shahgarh in Sagar district, Ichhawar in Sehore, Chhapara and Lakhnadaun in Seoni, Byohari, Budhar, Gohparu in Shahdol district, Karahal of Sheopur, Khaniyadhana, Kolaras and Narwar in Shivpuri, Manjhaoli, Rampur Naikin and Sidhi in Sidhi, Chitrangi and Devsar in Singrauli, Baldevgarh, Jatara, Niwari, Palera, Prithvipur and Tikamgarh in Tikamgarh, Mahidpur in Ujjain district, Karkeli of Umaria, Lateri and Nateran development blocks in Vidisha district have also been selected under the scheme.
