Poor to provide patta of land : Chief Minister

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that patta of land on which a poor person is residing will be given to him in Madhya Pradesh. He urged the Union Government for Land Reforms Act. He assured utmost support of the State Governemnt to this Act and cooperation in its implementation. Shri Chouhan also urged Chief Ministers of other states to unite for safeguarding rights of the poor.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said this during Jan-Satyagrah Padyatra at Agra today. He said that he can abdicate power, but not favour towards the poor. He said that tigers should be saved, but not by displacing tribals. He said that issues pertaining to the poor should be at the core of politics. He said that special debate is required on the issues concerning the common man.
The Chief Minister informed that land pattas have been given to one lakh 76 tribals in Madhya Pradesh. The process of issuing pattas will continue in future also untill every tribal gets the same. He informed that important initiatives have been taken in the state like announcement of support price for minor forest produce and loans to farmers and fishermen at zero percent interest rate. Shri Chouhan urged the Union Government also to take necessary steps towards this.
The Chief Minister suggested to constitute a council for drafting Land Reforms Act and include grassroot level people in it. He said that meeting of this council should be convened at the earliest and an effective Act implemented. He assured that this Land Reform Act will be effectively implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Besides, he will also urged Chief Ministers of other states for this. He said that all efforts are being made to develop Madhya Pradesh as in ideal state. He said that he will always back the poor in their fight for rights.
