PM to Visit Amarkantak on Concluding Day of Narmada Seva Yatra

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and invited him on the concluding day of Narmada seva yatra on May 15. During an hour long meeting, Shri Chouhan apprised Prime Minister Shri Modi about various welfare schemes ongoing in the state beside implementation of ‘Narmada Seva Yatra’ and ‘Gramoday to Bharat Uday’ campaign. PM Shri Modi accepting the invitation of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave his consent to attend the concluding day of yatra on May 15.

Yatra started from Amarkantak on December 11, 2016 will culminate on May 15, 2017 at Amarkantak. CM Shri Chouhan informed that yatra has been started for conservation of environment and river in Madhya Pradesh. Public are coming forward especially to participate in yatra and the government is supporting them. Eminent personalities and people of all walks of life like Sadhu-Sants, Water Experts, Artists, Musicians and Dharmgurus took part in the yatra with enthusiasm. The yatra will culminate in Amarkantak on May 15. A future action plan will be handed over to the Prime Minister on concluding day of yatra. Light will be shed in the action plan on future’s strategy for river conservation. Foundation of sewage water treatment plant will be laid by the Prime Minister during the yatra. Sewage water treatment plants will be established in 18 cities situated on the banks of Narmada River and clean water will be utilised for farming.

CM Shri Chouhan during the meeting with Prime Minister Shri Modi, informed in detail about the scheme being implemented in the state to make the farmers’ income double. He informed that positive results were obtained under the scheme. Increase of 33 percent has been registered in agriculture production this year.
