Farmers’ protest at Mandsaur: Agitating farmers torch chartered buses in Sonkatch

Indore: Protesting farmers torched four chartered buses in Dewas on Wednesday afternoon. Luckily, the passengers managed to escape unhurt.
The incident took place at Nevri Chowk in Sonkatch. The bus was ferrying passengers from Indore to Bhopal when it was stopped by protesters. They first pelted stones at the bus and vandalized it using iron rods. Later, they set the buses on fire.
The protest, which started on June 1, took a violent turn on Tuesday with deaths of six people in police firing in Mandsaur.
Police said they had to resort to lathicharge and use teargas shells to disperse the violent protesters.
“Four AICTSL vehicles were torched by the farmers. All the passengers managed to run towards the farms to save their lives. The farmers also pelted stones at the vehicles in which women and children were trapped,” Sandeep Soni, AICTSL, CEO told a media house.
Meanwhile, an automobile showroom on Manasa road was also set on fire by the farmers.
