Over 39.91 lakh MT wheat procured on support price

Bhopal. Procurement of wheat on support price was held in the state till May 25. This year, 39 lakh 91 thousand MT wheat has been procured through 2844 procurement centres. Procurement had started on March 16. Wheat was procured this year on support price of Rs. 1525 per quintal. This year, 19 lakh 33 thousand 969 farmers got registered to sell produce on support price. A sum of Rs. 6087 crore was paid to farmers against wheat procurement.

Among divisions, 2 lakh 61 thousand MT wheat was procured in Indore, 11 lakh 71 thousand MT Bhopal, 8 lakh 78 thousand MT Narmadapuram, 4 lakh 40 thousand MT Ujjain, 2 lakh 54 thousand MT Sagar, 5 lakh 86 thousand MT Jabalpur, one lakh 84 thousand MT Gwalior, one lakh 5 thousand MT Chambal, 97 thousand MT Rewa and about 15000 MT wheat was procured in Shahdol division.

In view of Simhastha, wheat procurement process was completed in Ujjain district on April 20. Total one lakh 65 thousand MT wheat was procured in Ujjain district. To save farmers from inconvenience, SMSes are being sent informing them of the dates on which they have to come to procurement centres to sell their produce. State Civil Supplies Corporation and MARKFED procured wheat on support price in the state.
