One nomination for Mayors, 54 for Chairpersons and 350 for corporators rejected
Bhopal: Nominations for urban body elections-2014 were scrutinized today. According to latest information, one nomination for the post of Mayor, 54 for Chairperson and 350 for the post of corporator were rejected. After scrutiny, nomination of Indian National Congress candidate for Katni Municipal Corporation Shri Arun Kanojiya was rejected. In all, 132 nominations have been filed for Mayor’s post, 2833 for Chairperson and 34 thousand 808 nominations have been filed for corporator’s post. Details are available on State Election Commission’s website www.mplocalelection.gov.in.
Nominations can be withdrawn by November 15. The same day, final list of candidates left in the fray will be published. Polling for first phase will be held on November 28 and second phase on December 4. Counting for the first phase will be held on December 2 and second phase on December 6.
