Women were respected a lot in India in ancient times, but after the country was enslaved, injustice was meted out to women. As a result of historical reasons, women were also subjected to secondary status in homes. Women were dependent on others even for their small needs. To improve their condition, schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Kanya Vivah Yojana, other promotional activities and schemes for women empowerment were implemented in the state.
