Newly elected Mayor and corporators should ensure city’s all-round development

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that newly elected Mayor and corporators should take pledge to ensure city’s all-round development with maximum public participation. He also announced Rs. 565 crore 25 lakh for city’s development. Union Mines and Steel Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that he is fulfilling promises made for development of Morena. He sanctioned Rs. 130 crore for project to bring water from Chambal river for supply of drinking water in Morena city, Rs. 300 crore for underground sewer line, Rs. 100 crore for houses to the poor, Rs. 19 crore for city’s development and Rs. 4 crore for preservation of Badokhar lake. The Chief Minister said that large number of people from Morena are in army. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced “one rank, one pension” scheme which would morale of army.

Union Minister Shri Tomar said that Morena has joined 16 Municipal Corporations in the state for the first time. Congratulating newly elected Mayor and corporators, he said that name of Morena will be counted among developed city after completion of development works at a rapid pace. Newly elected Mayor Shri Ashok Argal presented vision document of Morena city’s development comprising construction of flyover, ring road, parks, waste management etc. at the outset, collector Sushri Shilpa Gupta administered oath of secretary and office to Mayor Shri Argal and 47 corporators.

Minister of State for GAD and in-charge of district Shri Lal Singh Arya, local MP Shri Anup Mishra, MLAs Sarvshri Rustam Singh, Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, Meharban Singh Rawat and Subedar Singh Rjaodha were also present.
