New premises of Makhanlal Journalism University to be established at Rewa

Bhopal. New premises of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Mass Communication will be established at Rewa. Earlier, such premises have been established at Gwalior, Khandwa and Amarkantak. It was decided to prescribe works for managing committee at a meeting of general council of the University chaired by Higher and Technical Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta here today. Public Relations, Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla also gave important suggestions.

The meeting decided to form a new committee to purchase building for University’s premises in NCR Delhi. Shri Gupta directed to serve letters of unhappiness to officers absent from the meeting. The meeting decided that within 15 days, news about India published in SAARC countries will be collected and maintained as e-content on public domain.

Decisions were also taken regarding collaboration with China’s Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication and opening study centre at Dubai. Shri Kamal Chopra’s appointment as adjunct professor and action plan for proposed university building at Bisankheri presented by Madhya Pradesh Housing Board were also endorsed at the meeting.

Sanction of Rs. one crore was accorded for university’s silver jubilee year 2015-16. During the period, various seminars and competitions will be held.

At the meeting, Chairman of General Council Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was authorized to nominate 3 members to managing committee and constitute a committee for reforms in University Act.

Vice Chancellor Dr. B.K. Kuthiyala informed about various proposals. Members of general council put forth important suggestions.

University’s Rector Shri Lajpat Ahuja and Registrar Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi welcomed the guests. Members Sarvshri Kailash Chandra Pant, Prashant Pal, Ruchi Vijayvargiya, Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi, Umesh Upadhayay, Dr. Hitesh Shankar, Mukesh Shah, Lokendra Parashar, Dr. Shireesh Kashikar, Vishwanath Sachdeva, Gauransh Agrawal and Shri Kiran Shelar were present at the meeting.
