New industrial corridor to be developed in Gwalior area

Gwalior: A new industrial development corridor will be developed between Gwalior, Morena, Shivpuri and Guna. An integrated plan will be chalked out for development of Gwalior area’s tourist spots. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave these directives during a meeting for review of Gwalior city’s development works here today. At the meeting, in-principle consent was given to various redensification schemes for Gwalior’s development.
At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that schemes pertaining to redensification should be implemented at a rapid pace. Redensification schemes have been chalked out for PWD workshop at Murar, Kathipura-based government residences and Veterinary Hospital, Hujrat Pul. Besides, schemes are also being chalked out for City Centre PWD Quarters, Heavy Machinery Office in front of Silver Estate and Old PWD Quarters on Jhansi Road. It was informed that schemes have been chalked for construction of new guest house, multi-level parking and multi-storey residential building.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the Road Development Corporation to examine proposals for construction of flyovers on Tighara-Shivpuri Link Road and Padao Pul. The Chief Minister directed to fix priorities for proposals to construct various proposed roads in the city after examining it. These include Shivpuri Link Road Four-lane, Sirol Trisection to Naulakha Sosa Road and four-lane from MP Bridge to Vikki Factory Road. It was informed that sanction has been given to construction of crematorium to Shivpuri Link Road and Chandrawati Naka to Sirol Road.
At the meeting, directives were given to the Road Development Corporation to examine proposal to widen Mohna-Pohri Road and Ghatigaon to Jaura Road. Proposal will be put up before the Wildlife Board regarding construction of proposed 26 kilometer long road from Nayagaon to Rairuoo via SADA Road. Directives were also given to chalk out plan of a composite building with regard to shifting of state-level government offices in SADA area of Gwalior.
Regarding, development of civil airport at Gwalior, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that a PPP-based project like Kochi Airport should be chalked out for this. A decision will be taken soon by the State Government for fixing rates of plots regarding shifting of Lohiya Bazar on Shivpuri Road. It was informed at the meeting that work orders have been issued for construction of 12 four-lane roads and beautification of Maharajwada under the Chief Minister’s Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme. An action plan has been chalked out to develop premises of Gorkhi School in the city, where former Primer Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had pursued education. Directives were given to chalk out a scheme under PPP mode for the construction of Sports Village. It was informed that about 35 kilometer long cycle pathway is being constructed on Gwalior’s main roads. For this, Rs. 35 crore has been sanctioned.
Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra, Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, MPs Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki and Smt. Maya Singh, Gwalior Mayor Smt. Sameeksha Gupta, SADA Chairman Shri Jai Singh Kushwaha, Gwalior Development Authority Chairman Shri Ravindra Singh Rajput, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Principal Secretary Urban Administration Shri S.P.S. Parihar, Secretaries to Chief Minister Shri S.K. Mishra and Vivek Agrawal, Gwalior Divisional Commissioner Shri S.B. Singh, Collector Shri P. Narhari and officers of concerning departments were present at the meeting.
