New crop insurance policy to ensure definite income of farmers: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sough blessings of Sant Shri Ravishankar Maharaj at Samajik Kumbh at village Chhipri in Lighaura tahasil of Tikamgarh district today and assured to fulfill people’s demands. Dharmik and Samajik Kumbh is being held at Chhipri till April 27.

Shri Chouhan said that such a crop insurance policy will be chalked out in the state, which will ensure definite minimum income of farmers. He said that farmers have to face not only vagaries of weather, but also suffer losses due to fall in prices or yield of produce. Farmer bears also adverse conditions to grow food grains, but he does not always get fair price of his produce. He said thar crop insurance policy should be such that farmers get a definite minimum income in case their crops suffer damage, fall in product or in the event of any other calamity. Shri Chouhan said that our farmers, villages and state should be financial sound. He said that a Kisan Kalyan Kosh will also be incepted.

Shri Chouhan announced to establish a government college at Lighaura. He also announced to start a 132 KV power station, construction of community hall and higher secondary school and SC, ST students’ hostel in the village. On appeal of local people, Shri Chouhan also assured construction of a hospital.

Sant Shri Ravishankar Maharaj said that the Chief Minister who got Madhya Pradesh rid of tag of sickness and brought it to the category of developed states is simple and amicable. He said that the state has witnessed all-round development under Chief Ministership of Shri Chouhan. So many programmes are being implemented in the state so that no one including farmers, labourers, children and elderly persons faces any problem. He said that the Chief Minister always prays for development of people and state. He said that state feels proud to have such a Chief Minister.

Former Minister of State Shri Hari Shankar Khatik presented people’s demands before the Chief Minister. Chief Minister’s wife Smt. Sadhana Singh, in-charge Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh Thakur, State BJP Organising Secretary Shri Arvind Menon, MLAs Sarvshri K.K. Shrivastava, Dinesh Ahirwar, Anil Jain, Vivek Chaturvedi, Smt. Anita Nayak, other public representatives and large number of people were present on the occasion.
