Narmada Seva Committees to Be Formed at District, Block and Village Level

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing a meeting of In Charges of the “Namami Devi Narmade” Yatra presented action plan and outline of the Yatra. Shri Chouhan directed to form Narmada Seva Committees at district, block and village level. He further said that devoted people should be included in these committees.

CM Shri Chouhan deliberating on the objectives and outline of the “Namami Devi Narmade” Yatra said that the Yatra is being organized with an objective to conserve water of life line river Narmada, its sanitation and to plant trees to give life to the river. He further mentioned that reduction in forest has affected the Narmada water. He mentioned that the farmers will be encouraged for fruit plantation.

CM Shri Chouhan stated that the ghats of Narmada River will be cleaned. Pledge will be administered to people to conserve river, protection of environment and to make them free from addiction. He said that each member of the society and section will be linked to this Yatra. Making Yatra blissful, bhajan mandlis will be included for enthusiasm. Cultural programmes committed towards Narmada ji will be organized. At least 5 plants will be planted each day by one participant during the Yatra and responsibility to take care of the plants will be fixed.

Moreover, Shri Chouhan gave directives to design the flag of the Yatra. This flag will be transferred to the members continuing Yatra. Sub-Yatras will be started to join the yatra at cities and villages which do not come in the way of the Main Yatra. Message to conserve river will be given through these sub-yatras. Yatra will cover 15 kilometer in a day. Narmada Aarti will be performed at the places of night halts and Bhajan Sandhya will be organised by the local artists.

Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar, Chairman M.P. Mineral Development Corporation Shri Shiv Choubey, Vice Chairman Jan-Abhiyan Parishad Shri Pradeep Pandey, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Ashok Varnval and Secretary Shri Hariranjan Rao were present in the meeting.
