MP’s Beti Bachao Abhiyan becomes a national scheme now
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government’s Beti Bachao Abhiyan is going to be replicated by the Central Government. “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana” in national format will be launched at Panipat in Haryana. Giving this information, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh informed that state’s 4 districts have been selected for scheme’s implementation including Datia, Gwalior, Bhind and Morena.
Smt. Maya Singh said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan had launched Beti Bachao Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh on October 1, 2007. Earlier, Ladli Laxmi Yojana was launched in year 2006 under which the state government bears expenses on girls right from birth upto completion of education and marriage. Swagatam Laxmi Yojana was launched in 2014. She said that results of these schemes have been lauded at the national level. Recognising its impact, the Central Government has decided to implement “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana” throughout the country.
An action plan is being chalked out to implement “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana” in state’s 4 districts.
Side by side launch of “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana” at Panipat in Haryana, a 3-day national seminar will also be held from January 20. The seminar will extensively discuss issues of children and women. Women and Child Development Minister will preside over session “Nutrition and Health” on January 21. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will conclude the 3-day seminar on January 22.
On Central Governments’ insistence, the state government will put up an exhibition focusing on schemes for women and children and their impact at the venue. The schemes to highlighted and their impact shown at the exhibition include Ladli Laxmi, Swagatam Laxmi, Beti Bachao, Shaurya Dal etc.
