Mega campaign underway to extend education to all in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: All parents desire that their children study and make it in life. Sometimes, circumstances and constraints fail their aspirations. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan” to fulfill this desire of parents and develop Madhya Pradesh as an educated and developed state. This is not a mere formal programme which will end with just a function. The Chief Minister has resolved to take it to its logical conclusion. He is himself creating public awareness to associate children with education throughout the state. He has also given targets to cabinet colleagues and officers to ensure that every child able to go school must be admitted in school.
First phase: To ensure success of “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan” and to make it sure that every child goes to school, a planned strategy has been implemented in the state on the directives of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. The campaign is being implemented in 4 phases to ensure admission of all children from 6 to 14 years of age. The first phase began from April 30 during which lists of children able to be admitted in class were prepared. Their entries were updated in Village Education Registers. Lists of children able to be admitted in class VI were also prepared. In-charges of schools counselled parents of children having passed class VIII exam to get them admitted in class IX. Lists of children able to be admitted in class I, VI and IX were uploaded on School Education Department’s portal. All teachers made door-to-door contacts for admission of children in the first phase.
Second phase: During the campaign’s second phase, in-charges of schools contacted parents of children in Anganwadi centres from June 10 to 16. Teachers once again contacted parents from July 11 to 16 to send their children to schools.
Pravesh Utasav: Following preparations made during these 2 phases, Pravesh Utsav was celebrated in all schools on June 16 as a major milestone of the campaign. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the mega campaign for dissemination of education at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. By giving away laptops to over 10 thousand students, he made clear his intention that he stands with all government resources by every such student who wants to study and progress. He exhorted children to aim high and be ready to do extraordinary works and help develop Madhya Pradesh by making it literate.
Under the campaign, bridge course will be conducted between June 25 and July 20. Under it, admission will be given in class II to V and VII and VIII till June 25. Admission of migrated children will be upto June 30. Objective of the whole exercise is to ensure that no child is left out from going to school.
Efforts for community partnership: about 3 lakh motivators join: Efforts of only the government cannot ensure any campaign’s success. Community participation is also necessary. Keeping this in view, people from intelligentsia have been associated with “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan”. The government has urged people that they can become motivators for the campaign by just giving a missed call. The process of missed calls began from May 29 on phone number 0755-2570000. As a result, 2 lakh 80 thousand motivators have joined the campaign till June 16. To encourage them, the Chief Minister personally thanked all those who joined the campaign by giving missed call. For giving a new height to the campaign and sending its message throughout the country, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan is also associating President Shri Pranab Mukherjee with the campaign on June 28.
