Madhya Pradesh to Emerge As Digital State: CM

Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh will become fully Digital State. Addressing e-Governance Awards distribution ceremony for innovations and best practices organised by Science and Technology Department here today, he launched MPMobile Service for 120 public services. He also launched e-Shakti,
e-Dasksh Project to orient women about internet. State e-mail Service has also been launched by sending a greeting message to 17 thousand 800 employees. The rest will soon be connected to the service . Shri Chouhan also announced additional 6 percent DA to employees at par with Centre.

The Chief Minister stressed on innovative use of information technology to ensure speedy and effective delivery of public services. He said that delivery of public service can be radicalized using IT. Shri Chouhan reiterated the state government’s commitment to transforming Madhya Pradesh in every sector.

The Chief Minister said that government has deep faith in people. Now, self-certified income and domicile certificates have been given recognition. He said that it is being considered to implement a new crop insurance scheme for the farmers within a year. Farmers must also have a minimum or assured income. He urged people present on the occasion to give suggestions for designing the scheme. He said that Farmers Welfare Fund should also be established to protect farmers in case of emergencies and compensate their crop loss. The Chief Minister congratulated awardees, departments and institutions and appreciated the Science and Technology Department for this initiative.

Minister for Information Technology Shri Bhupendra Singh said that good governance is soul of democracy. He said that good governance can be established by promoting use of information technology. He said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, talents in the state are getting chance to realise their potential for the progress of the state. Young talents are also getting opportunities to contribute to the development of the state.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa said that the state is moving fast in use of information technology. Madhya Pradesh has also made important achievements in India’s journey from Manual Country to Digital Country. He said that good governance cannot be thought about without information technology. He informed that Madhya Pradesh is ahead of all in the country in e-Transactions as well as implementation of Open Data Policy. Under e-Shakti Project to empower women, training has so far been imparted to one lakh 60 thousand women. Secretary Information Technology Shri Hari Ranjan Rao while dwelling on establishment and process of e-Governance Awards said that 10 juries were formed to select the best from among 189 nominations for 10 categories. Award money has also been doubled from current year.

The Chief Minister felicitated office of the Labour Commissioner, Indore’s Shram Sewa Portal, the then Commissioner of Ujjain division Shri Arun Pandey and collector Shri B.M. Sharma for Mahakaleshwar Mandir’s management system, “Enterprise Information Management System” under Water Resources Department, NGOs “Citizen Cop Foundation”, Indore and Bhopa’s Asar Green Kabadi Private Limited, MP Online.

For innovative use of information technology in e-governance for database facility for neonatal monitoring, the then collector of Bhind for district election management, Mandla district for “Vatsalya Mandla Project”, MP State Education Portal for student tracking integrated scholarship and benefit management system and as runner up to Madhya Pradesh Employment Guarantee Council for MNREGA audit and fiscal management system and Mandla Collector for “Gyanranjan Project”.

A number of other awards were also given away on the occasion.
