Madhya Pradesh not to lag behind race for development: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it has been resolved to make Madhya Pradesh number one state in the country. Madhya Pradesh will not be allowed to lag behind in race for development in any case. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a function after laying foundation stone and inaugurating development works at a public welfare programme at Chandla in Chhatarpur district today. Minister of State for SC, ST Welfare and in-charge of the district Shri Harishankar Khatik, MP Shri Jitendra Singh Bundela, MLAs Shri Ramdayal Ahirwar, Smt. Lalita Yadav, Smt. Rekha Yadav, Smt. Asha Rani Singh and Shri Manvendra Singh, District BJP President Dr. Ghasiram Patel, other public representatives and large number of beneficiaries were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that irrigation facilities are being expanded to make agriculture profitable. Interest on loans to farmers has been reduced to zero percent from 18 percent. The State Government is giving Rs. 150 percent bonus over and above the support price fixed for wheat procurement by the Union Government. Power will be supplied for 24-hours in all villages of the state from June. He administered a pledge to people for becoming partners in village development under “Aao Banayen Apna Madhya Pradesh” Shri Chouhan announced to open government college at Chandla. After worshipping feet of girls, the Chief Minister felicitated the parents with only daughters and distributed NSCs to small girls.
The Chief Minister said that survey for construction of stop-dam on Ken river will be conducted at the earliest for increasing irrigation facilities in Chandla. He also assured to start work on Ken-Betwa project after conducting survey. He said that efforts will be continued in the state for increasing basic amenities like water, roads, power, employment, education and health.
Shri Chouhan said that farmers need not clear electricity bills every month now. Farmers will have to pay Rs. 1200 per horse power only once in the year. He said that cent percent surcharge on farmers’ electricity bills pending as on February 28, 2013 will be waived. Poor people will be provided wheat at the rate of Rs. 1 per kg an rice at Rs. 2 per kg from June 1. Iodised salt will also be provided at the rate of Rs. 1 per kg. He said that patta on land where poor people are living will be given to them.
The Chief Minister informed that loans are being provided to youths to set up their own business and industries under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yajana. Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojana has been launched to arrange free journeys of senior citizens to centres of pilgrimage.
