Let us ring in New Year with renewed vigour and resolve: CM

Bhopal. I extend my heartiest New Year greetings and good wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh. We have before us new grounds to break, new horizons to scale and new expectations to fulfill. Let us ring in New Year-2016 with renewed vigour and resolves. Let us share our happiness with the less fortunate and help those in need.

Year 2015 was spent in fulfilling the resolves to promote welfare of people. The year gone by brought moments of glory as well as adversities. The state faced the challenging situation arising out deficient rains. State government stood by the farmers during the trying time. We reviewed entire agricultural scenario in the new contexts. Entire government reached out to farmers and the interactions with them brought solutions to a number of problems. I believe that the farmers are not mere individuals but valuable human capital of the country. We can produce luxury items in factories and industries but not food grains, rice and pulses. It is, therefore, the prime duty of the government to safeguard the interests of farmers. The endeavour is to bring back smile on the faces of the farmers helping them come out of crisis and start afresh.

Year 2015 was eventful. The state had the privilege of hosting the 10th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan with great success. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi referred to Madhya Pradesh on two occasions during his popular Man Ki Bat radio communication for its contribution to Swachchh Bharat Mission. The expert institutions keeping a watch on the development scenario of the country described Madhya Pradesh as fastest growing state.

The year gone by witnessed launching of a number of initiatives in Madhya Pradesh. Dial 100 is first of its kind initiative to rush immediate police assistance to the needy. The decision of 33 percent reservation to women in government jobs would bring about revolutionary social change. The statistics of census 2011 make it clear that women are very eager and enthusiastic to be active and equal partner in development process. The decision would enable them to get jobs as per their talents. The Adhyapak cadre would start getting the benefit of the 6th Pay Commission from the new year. This will benefit over 1.84 lakh teachers. Students of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes from government schools brought laurels to the state by making it to the IITs. This is a beginning and in future more and more students will come out with flying colours in different competitive exams.

My endeavour has been to boost the entrepreneurship spirit of the youths, thereby helping them to contribute more significantly to state’s economy. I am happy that some youths have set very encouraging examples and are successfully running their ventures. They have become job providers. I hope that they would scale new heights in the New Year and inspire others to follow suit. I wish every district of the state to produce successful young entrepreneurs.

We have implemented all the schemes in consonance with Antyodaya philosophy. Poverty alleviation schemes have been implemented more vigorously during Garib Kalyan Varsh with the objective to ensure that no eligible poor family is deprived of benefits of welfare schemes. We have taken up skill development as a mission. Now we are moving from skill development to job creation.

People of Madhya Pradesh have displayed exemplary religious tolerance and good will. Celebration of Moharram, Vijayadashami and Devi Visarjan simultaneously was a challenge. It is a matter of pride for all of us that all these festivals were celebrated in a climate of exemplary peace and amity. I am confident that they will keep it up.

In the new year skill development, job creation and further improvement in education and health sectors would be top on our priorities. I want to ensure equal opportunities of progress to every citizen of the state and to improve employability of the youths. I wish happiness, prosperity, good health, peace and plenty to all the people of the state.
