LED display system will be installed at Bhopal and Habibganj stations

BHOPAL: Rapid reservation display system (RRDS) will be installed outside reservation office of the Bhopal and Habibganj railway station soon. This will bring more transparency in reservation of seats and berths in trains.

This will be very beneficial for the passengers as the display system will enable the passengers to get the reservation status of any train. Also, passengers will be able to find the number of berth vacancies in each class of the train. Consequently, Railway Signal and Telecom department has invited proposals in this regard till December 7.

KK Dubey, Public Relation Officer of Railway Division said: “A sum of more than Rs 22 lakh is estimated to be spent on the installation work to facilitate the passengers.”

Initially, there were plans to instal the display system only at the Habibganj station. However, the railway division later decided to have the RRDS installed at both the stations. The tenders have been invited for the installation of electronic token indicator system and LED train information display system at both the stations.

The electronic token indicator system will lessen the burden on passengers to stand in the long queues for getting the reservation. Those coming for getting the ticket reservation to the railway station will be issued a token. With the display of the token number on the display board, the reserved ticket will be issued to the individual. The expenditure cost is expected to be Rs 6.20 lakh.

Also the LED information display system on the will provide information on the departure and arrival of the trains. As many as two LEDs will be installed at the entry of the Habibganj station while Bhopal railway station will have one LED board.
