Jalabhishek Abhiyan to be conducted on massive scale in state

Bhopal. Jalabhishek Abhiyan will be conducted on a massive scale in the state. Under the campaign, water structures will be constructed on a war-footing. This was directed by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at high-level meeting of administrative officers here today. He said that involvement of common people, public representatives, non-government organisations and all departments should be ensured in the campaign. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de sa, all ACS, PS and heads of major departments attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that he would undertake Public Welfare Visits for surprise inspections of development works. During the visits, he will night halt at villages and take meetings of officers. He said that investment is a significant source of employment. Officers should have positive frame of mind in providing facilities to investors. The state should have investment-friendly atmosphere. Water conservation structures holding water round the year should be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana in the places not having irrigation facilities. Preparations to deal with drinking water crisis in urban and rural areas should be chalked out right now.

The Chief Minister said that next year would be observed as Poor Persons Welfare Year. All departments implementing poor persons’ welfare schemes should make preparations for holding programmes during the year. All departments should act to achieve targets set under Vision Document-2018 along with constant monitoring. Decisions taken at all recent departmental review meetings should be implemented speedily. Detailed departmental review meetings will be held every 3 months. Keeping in view priorities recommended by MLAs, development works should be undertaken with positive frame of mind. Departments should chalk out list of Vidhan Sabha constituency-wise works.
