James Anderson 1st bowler to take 100 wickets at Lord’s

London: James Anderson became the first player to take 100 wickets at Lord’s during day four of the second Test versus India on Sunday. Anderson took the wicket of Murali Vijay in the second over of India’s second innings to reach the landmark. This was also his 550th Test wicket.
Anderson is overall the second bowler to take 100 wickets at a single venue after Sri Laka’s Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken over 100 wickets at three separate venues in Test matches. Muralitharan has taken 116 wickets at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo, 117 wickets at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy and 111 wickets at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.
Anderson took 23 Test matches to reach the landmark and has a career-best of 7/42 at the Home of Cricket. He also has also taken six five-wicket hauls at Lord’s. Stuart Broad is just behind Anderson, taking 79 wickets so far from 21 Test matches at Lord’s.
Anderson now has the most number of wickets in an India-England series with 96 scalps to his name. India’s Bhagwat Chandrasekhar is second with 95 and he is followed by Anil Kumble (92), Bishan Singh Bedi (85) and Kapil Dev (85).
